What is RescueNetwork.org?

RescueNetwork.org is a free service provided by the PetHobbyist family of web communities, and its staff, volunteers, users, and sponsors, to support the responsible and ethical rescue of all kinds of animals: companion animals, working animals, and wildlife. We provide this locator and adoption placement listing service as a public service to the pet community; there is no charge for groups wishing to list their rescue group or organization, or use our adoption classifieds to post photos of, and information about, animals needing new homes.

We also allow individuals to place ads for their own pets who are in need of new homes. Such ads must abide by our guidelines and Terms of Service and are pre-screened by our staff for compliance with those terms and guidelines.

In addition, we allow individuals to post lost/found/missing animal ads. These ads are also pre-screened.

How can I add my rescue group or shelter to the locator?

If you are a rescue group or shelter, you can add your group here. If you have any questions, please contact our Rescue Coordinator for assistance.

How can I post ads for pets needing new homes?

If you are a rescue group or shelter and your application to be listed in the locator is approved, you automatically have a free adoption classified account and 10 mgs of space in our Photo Gallery to post ads for pets needing new homes. (If you need more space in the Photo Gallery, simply contact PHChristy and she will arrange it for you.) When your listing is approved, you will receive an email with information about posting ads in the classifieds, however, if you misplace this email, simply click on the appropriate link in the upper right hand corner of this page under "Adoption Services," and then on "Post a Classified." These links also appear in the same location on the main RescueNetwork.org page.

If you are an individual seeking a new home for your own pet(s), simply click on the link for the appropriate type of pet in the upper right hand corner of this page under "Adoption Services," and then on "post a classified." (These links also appear in the same location on the main RescueNetwork.org page.) You'll be asked to log in as a "guest" (or, if you don't already have a username and password on our site, to create them). Your ad will be pre-screened for compliance with our guidelines before it appears.

We do not allow any form of commercial enterprise to use our free adoption classifieds to sell animals, or even give them away. This service is exclusively for individuals who need to re-home their own pets, or for approved rescue groups and shelters.

How do I post a Lost/Found/Missing Animal ad?

Simply click on "Lost/Found/Missing Animals" in the upper right hand corner of this page or the main RescueNetwork page, or on this link: Lost/Found/Missing Animals. Then click on "Post a Classified Ad" and follow the instructions to log in.

I see a shelter or rescue group listed that doesn't meet your guidelines, or an ad that violates your Terms of Service; what should I do?

If you need to report a problem with an ad, click on the "Report Abuse" button that appears on the page with each ad.

Can I put a fundraising ad or announcement in the Adoption Classifieds?

Only ads for animals for adoption may be listed in the free classifieds at this time. We have a free banner program for rescue groups and shelters, so if you need to advertise a fundraising event or other program, please contact our Organizations Editor.
